    Back update
Now it seems thna nervers are growing again. I've had shoots in my leg for few days and peeing works better. Still Ass operation is a bit iffy. (Read: I get #2 sometimes when trying to do #1. Crappy) However even if my back hurts a lot, I guess it is still imprevement. I have to talk to my doc that without painkillers, my back still hurts somewhat. Maybe another operation? :-/

    Restoration blizz
Now I finally got the backseat area "in order". Rust removal, zink spray, premer and top coat. Yay. Next step is to reassemble the interior which I already have restored. Just some sound deadener and I'm done... Next target will be front windows and dash.

    Another update on back issues
The nerves seem to come back a little at a time. Urination seems to work a bit more consistenly and ass tingling and shoots are different. Its hard to explain, but try sitting 2 hours straight on a wooden bench, stand up suddenly and you get pretty close. Also leaks are more like heavy staining. Consider yourself after heavy drinking in a really full bar and peeing into a sink every time you had to go. Somewhat that messy, but when sober... Back itself.. Its still better than for few years, but a little stiff in the morning when getting up. More gym and walking and it should be ok again. Walking seems to help. Sauna in the gym is more therapeutical than healthy for my back, but wouldn't skip that for anything. ok, if the back snapped again maybe, then yeah. :-)

    Back update
Old Finnish saying "if sauna, booze and tar does not help, the disease is deadly" seems to be somewhat accurate. While drinking in xmas, I regained some more ability to urinate. Now it seems that retension and walking helps most. No more huge leakages except if I happen to sneeze just after I have woken up in the middle of the night. More excesise and I think I should be fine next summer. I hope so.. :-/

    Backsurgery
Blogging again. it took a while to get my website running in the new place I moved to. First the DNS was somewhere I didn't remember anymore and of course the "new" NAT box gave some effort to make everything work again.. Anyway. After the move, on Friday September 2nd, I was in shower and grasping a bar of soap and the hell broke loose. It was like stabbing with blowing daggers to my back. I could not move. I grabbed to the walls and forced myself to the bed taking my cell phone on the way. Emphasis on the word forced, since the pain was unbearable. Few painkillers and quick review of what happened. I was naked in the bed, could only roll without terrible pain - better stay in one place for few moments and let the painkillers kick in. After staying still for an hour, the pain was still there. So i called my boss, I'll be late and took more painkillers and a nap. Same problem after an hour, more painkillers and repeat few times. After 3 or 4 hours, i was able to get up and put shorts on. Only problem seemed to be that my ass was totally numb. Maybe the painkillers (1200mg of ibuprofein)... So I went to spa to get the numbness away. I thought it was just a muscle tension and I ha few friends coming to visit. On Saturday, I noticed I had not urinated for more than 12 hours, so I asked my roommate to drop me to urgent care. Outcome: 1000cc of urine out and catherer for weekend. And some antibiotics and painkillers. Nice. Bag of urine strap to leg. On Monday, the catherer was taken away and assumption was still that some muscles were a BIT tight. And I was able to pee. At least a little. So I waited until Tuesday and went to my doctor. She sent me to a neurologist, who had a hunch what might be going on, so he did some tests on Wednesday. On Thursday I went to hear the results: RX to hospital, right away. Surgery in the evening. Nice. Crap. So I drove back home, gathered few things and magazines and took a cab to the hospital. After being about 8 hours in, the surgery started around 9 and 10pm. Next thing after smelling some stuff going to my veins was a shearing pain in my back and the roof of the recovery room. And nurse asking if I need something. Painkillers and water plese... So she shot me with morphine. Few times. Not enough to get high, but enough to get rid of the pain. Water I got later when back in my room. So.. 12 hours after surgery I felt a lot better. Biggest issue was the scar in my back, which was itching, so I got up and went for a walk. nurses were totally surprised.. You're walking?!? :-) Later I learned from the doctor that they took a disk away between vertebra L4 and L5. There had been a bad nerve pinch causing numbness and loss of control of bladder and bowl. Recovery estimate: 1 to 9 months.. So here I am. 1 month after surgery learning to poo and pee. Or actually both work, but not as sensitively as I could hope. It is both or nothing, which is a bit rough for my ass. Sometimes things go as they used to and doing things separately works, but lately I haven't counted in that. Too messy. Good news is that I managed to get rid of 35 lbs. And going to continue the trend. Maybe not at same rate, but something around 2-4 lbs / week should be realistic. Just eat half of what I used to. More later, time to go potty-training again...

    Roadtrip to Oregon
While having a Ford Focus as a rental in place of mu Mustang, we decided to exploit the good gas mileage. So we took off to Oregon with Henrik. On the way there was a lot on highway 1 and some redwood forests, Oregon (0% sales tax!!) and Mount Shashta.. Very good trip. GPS proved to be very useful again. Unfortunately my 256M CF card acted again and I lost about 20 pictures. So long redtrees.. :(

    Crashtest
While driving to San Francisco to watch a football game (49ers vs Raiders), we got rear-ended by a latino guy. On freeway 101. 50mph! Luckily American Steel held and there was no injuries, but the rear of my 'stang got totally busted. Well.. Few weeks of repairs as it should be as good as new. Or something. I have a hunch that that car is cursed. On read end. Darn!

    Visit to Lake Tahoe
Nice weekend trip to the Lake Tahoe. A lot of sitting in the car and more spectacular sceneries. Highly recommended, both during winter and summer.
